Drawing: Inner Being

Artist: Randy Sturridge

The expression "inner beauty" is often used to compliment a person's amicable nature or characteristics.  The drawing above serves to depict the "inner thoughts and characteristics of the other end of that spectrum.  That being said I now seek your advice. What do you think could produce a mind and inner being such as this?

This will be an interesting discussion for I am very interested in what everyone comes up with.

Please share your opinion...

On the art or the Inquiry.

Looks to me like someone who likes to hurt, th ering through the nose indicates they are being restrained someone by society but if let loose they would be a killer.

Thank you everyone for your comments thus far...Anonymous 1 and 2 thank you both for your comments...greatly
appreciate it...

@GE Shutt...great conceptualization...That was the connotation that I wanted to manifest for the most part but for the life of me I could not put it into words...Even tried a short poem to drawn it forth with no luck.

I especially enjoy the portion explaining the purpose of the ring serving as restraints. Very cool.

One aspect that is subtle in my drawing but I love that I started the piece randomly on a sheet is that if you look closely you will notice their is some trig in the backdrop which ended up, I felt, being a nice addition to give depth and raise questions. Great insight guys...Thanks,

Can't wait to hear more. If possible please direct some folks here to convey their opinions as well.

From this I plan on writing a piece with all insight considered.

What could cause this. A mirror and a terrible self opinion. Years of depravity, pick the poison. Third a jaded and maliciously thinking person, looking at you with eyes of hate and ill wishes. Philosophical discussions are great. Really prods the mind. Excellent post. And by the way, you're showing up as current on my blog roll now, so whatever you did Google fixed it for you. Let me know as it still seems to appear that my site hasn't been updated yet by blogger. Thanks

Fred! As always thank you for the wonderful comment. I have began drawing again both with pastels, pencils and sharpies and happy to stay I will be incorporating the drawings into The Mind canvas...

Blogger has a new interface that you can check out...I used it for about an hour or so and reverted back to the normal display for the sake of saving time...Maybe that did it. You can give that a shot.

I removed your link and then re-added it to my list but with no success in updating your content. I will figure this out as it is happening to quite a few bloggers. Also I have synced my content with more of google's internal networks and have become a part of Google +. I will send you an invite for that if you haven't yet received one.

I am going take all of the comments and suggestions received and create a poem for each drawing...Thank you again sir and soon I will have the answer for in terms of linking ...try updating your feed.

I like it Thanks.
My thought was as usual, autobiographical. Rage as a result of refusal/inability to accept God given gifts Or conform to society. This creates constant rage which must be kept under constant control. In my case with alcohol.
BTW this method has never been known to work, in the history of time.

Myke, Thank you for sharing. Your comment is very genuine and most appropriate as I can relate. My entire family can...I learned the way most do, stumbling, falling, finding a range...losing it all, seeing the absolutes, and then finally finding balance. For me, the balance is omitting that particular indulgence from my life, as seems to be the balance for my family in it's entirety. Your comment is greatly appreciated and holds both personal insight and wisdom one can only in time.

I see confusion, hate and a face for the beast we use in place our basic human emotions such as love, desire, and need...a beast that none of us actually offer hospitality to, but one that consumes all things good, feeding and harboring ill will, sapping up all the energy it can. This inner beast controls those who claim total control, there is no real pain because there is no real feeling. And when he breaks free, as he is prone to do from time to time, he leaves a destructive, bloody mess in his wake...our best friend, and worst enemy,

Heidi Chester, Hell of a job here in seeing all this...I love the "Inner beast controls those who claim total control." I feel as though I see and understand what you're saying with this it will serve as a useful measure in drafting a poem.

As well feel confident that I did receive your poem through my contact form and will be releasing it today as soon as time permits. Again, thank you and very happy to see that you are beginning to become integrated in my community. Keep it up.

Youre 1 of the very best write-up writers that ive observed recently . I also like the way your blog site seems , are you currently making use of wordpress?

I am actually purchasing wordpress later on today...I will then secure a domain and upload to a server. At that point I will then be developing a site centralized around a multitude of subject matter, poetry of course being one of them. I will be sure to link back to The Mind Canvas (as this was a personal goal to prove) as a personal blog. I will be letting everyone know when the new site is up and running.
