A
queen, a gem, a rare artifact I possess
Savored,
worshipped, for purposes unsaid
Protect
sacred thoughts just in case
Should
it arrive, the moment I’m erased?
Never
quite losing but I find myself floored
With
thoughts and fears of hearing closed doors
The
light I have burns bright and thick
Forever,
when some go, this light loses wick
Ripe
pain of loss still fuels my flame
Lighter
it burns, when I scream out your name
I
must be hopeful that my flame is enough
That
can give you back the love that you’ve snuffed
If
my flame and fire burns while I search
Know
that I loved every day on this earth

Randy, good to see you back in action-missed seeing new posts. Anyhow this is really a great first piece back. The theme is obviously meaningful, but what I enjoyed the most was the consistency of imagery throughout and a few really nice snippets of word play, esp. Lighter it burns. Great job.
