Own The Night

Come what may,
Come what might,
I’m going to own this night.
I live today,
I die tomorrow,
I shake my head and dive right in.
I’ve lived the follies,
And see the errors,
I know my wrongs,
And done some rights,
But in the end,
I make them all mine.

I embraced the night,
I breathe the dark,
Scared away those darker thoughts.
I’ll be right here standing tall,
Fighting to keep it caged away.
Though I fight today,
I’ll sleep tomorrow,
And dream dreams of dreams,
Of the end and worse,
Let’s just hope I awake before then.

Tomorrow isn’t promised,
And today isn’t given,
So tonight I’ll become a living legend.
I’ve seen the errors,
I know my wrongs,
But in the end,
I’d only do more gleeful wrongs.
I wish you well,
I’ll wish you death,
I’ll whisper sweet nothings of discontent.

A child of night,
A child of sin,
I like to see what happens in the end.
I’ll make my mark,
My name will be sung,
One day I’m going to embrace the sun.
But for now,
And until the end,
I’m gonna own the night within.
Through thick and thin,
For better or worse,
I’ll be right here,
Smiling till the end.

Serpent Driven

Dickie Gonzo @Media Clown Records

SERPENT DRIVEN

lead me further down,
deeper than I ever would have gone
you would help me dig forever
and forever watch me burn
as i collide between your eyes
and give a lift to your brow,
you simply smirk and ghastly, lurk
throughout the shadows of my frown.
who dare outlast my desires
giving game to my obsessions
maybe the one whom I descend nearby
our corpses grande procession
forgive me not, nor I to you
in my tranquility, I've surrendered
and in return, need not I think,
the mind is no use to a slave
the thirteenth soul to cross your bridge
is mine the spirit that you've craved?

A Death Bed

1918
This is the State above the Law.
The State exists for the State alone."
[This is a gland at the back of the jaw,
And an answering lump by the collar-bone.],

Some die shouting in gas or fire;
Some die silent, by shell and shot.
Some die desperate, caught on the wire -
Some die suddenly. This will not.

"Regis suprema voluntas Lex"
[It will follow the regular course of--throats.]
Some die pinned by the broken decks,
Some die sobbing between the boats.

Some die eloquent, pressed to death
By the sliding trench as their friends can hear
Some die wholly in half a breath.
Some--give trouble for half a year.

"There is neither Evil nor Good in life
Except as the needs of the State ordain."
[Since it is rather too late for the knife,
All we can do is to mask the pain.]

Some die saintly in faith and hope--
One died thus in a prison-yard--
Some die broken by rape or the rope;
Some die easily. This dies hard.

"I will dash to pieces who bar my way.
Woe to the traitor! Woe to the weak! "
[Let him write what he wishes to say.
It tires him out if he tries to speak.]

Some die quietly. Some abound
In loud self-pity. Others spread
Bad morale through the cots around .
This is a type that is better dead.

"The war was forced on me by my foes.
All that I sought was the right to live."
[Don't be afraid of a triple dose;
The pain will neutralize all we give.

Here are the needles. See that he dies
While the effects of the drug endure. . . .
What is the question he asks with his eyes?--
Yes, All-Highest, to God, be sure.]

A Country In Transition: Written 5/9/2009

Popular sovereignty was a victory in history
Relinquishing all ties with malice and misery
Creating a change of profound effect
Rippling throughout the world for all to reflect
Production now down and revenue reduced
Companies netting half of the material produced
A Country in transition slowly dividing
Corrupt politicians constantly siding
Having a hand In the Unions deciding
Democrat sophisticates delegating authority
Secession then followed by southern majority
Civil war erupted with economic agendas
Our country conflicted with new federal dilemmas.
Our country survived this domestic battle
Southern agrarians then turned to cattle.
My point is now going to be conveyed to you
The Year is 2010 what can a citizen do
Our country sustained the civil war
The year is 2010 and our country is in transition
This time with activists with verbal ammunition.
Stripping the rights of the private sector
Forcing them to employ the Javiers and Hectors.
Economic turmoil will soon be felt
By doctors, and lawyers whose net worth will melt
Can our country survive an economic revolution?
Can we all agree this is not a solution?
An industrial recession we cannot sustain
This will result in manual labor regained
A slow regression in technological funding
Those seeking prosperity to countries they’re running
Popular sovereignty and civil restructuring,
In history survived with new obtained luxuries
This socialist transition cannot be sustained
With the constant increase in those military trained
In 2010 a historian may say
“The fall of great American, It came on that day.”

Liquid Sunshine

The sun is shinning
so sunny and bright
Not a cloud in the sky
no storm in sight

When out of the blue
it starts to pour
And drenches you
right down to the core

You look up and still feel
the sunlight on your face
You smile and think
"something's out of place"

"A moment ago
everything was fine"
Then you soon realize
it's just Liquid Sunshine.

My Love

Dedicated to Ebony

Caressing your skin with the palm of my hand

Venturing into the unknown with my knees in the sand

Hands in your as I kiss your sweet face

My heart beats true with a resonating base

Feeling your body as I hold you so close

Unbelievable bliss at a dangerous dose

My vision of the future inadvertently shifts

The love you provide is a beautiful gift

Feeling your lips press deeply into mine

I know in my heart that you’re one of a kind

I know what I want when I look in your eyes

I feel it in my soul as it screams out and cries

The skies open up and there flies a white dove

My future becomes clear, I want you my love.

Typical Atrocities

Typical Atrocities

Why do I have to be labeled so typically

Why do I have to be subject to such atrocities

Why do I have to be the target of animosities

I have always tried my best to do all I can for the rest

Hear I sit for I can't stand bearing the weight of this horrible brand

Why do I have to be the guy the guy that always seems to sigh

Why can't I be the one the one who's dancing around the sun

I find myself at a loss In trying my best I've only lost

I just want to be the one that anyone can call their son

I don't want to be the one that's thought to cheat and lie for fun

I just want to be the king and dance around the boxer's ring

I don't want to be the guy with hateful thoughts behind my eyes

Can't you see where all the same unfortunate souls of a perilous game

Can't you see we're grains of sand held in mother nature's hand

I don't want to be the one that's told he ever has to run

Please don't make me be that guy that's hated so much he wants to die

I just want to be the one that get's to dance around the sun

I just want to be the king dancing in the boxer's ring

Holding my gloves in the air, I bear this burden and you don't care

Ones Love

When one is with ones love
Life exceeds all that one expects
But when ones love passion dies
Life itself dies.

Tears come running down ones face
At the thought of losing what is already lost
The pain is never ending and unrelenting
Death seems more acceptable

Bipolar Minds

`
So excited, full of life, no more worries no more strife

Wide awake, shutting down, ripping apart and spiraling down

Completely numb though aware, no more trying, I don’t care

Giving up, giving in, life is empty full of sin

Where’d you go, my only hope, you dimmed the lights, no more fights

We were whole, one pure soul, we wanted more to adore.

Let’s try this, lets try that, favorites found, cheerful sounds

Taking more as we adore the love we share for each others care

As time goes bye I begin to sigh, feeling the change as my passions die

Time is lost, anguish gained, wide awake with my brain insane

I see your tears as though they’re years, passing through time and all my fears

I don’t know and I don’t care lets leave this time and we’ll be fine.

Well travel back to before and forget this pain that we adore.

I’ve been blind I missed the signs, so lets rewind and we’ll be fine.

No more pain, just me and you, lets reset and be renewed.

Its not to late I hope its not, your life, my life, my life, your life

Pussy Can Sit By the Fire and Sing

Pussy can sit by the fire and sing, Pussy can climb a tree Or Play with a silly old cork and string To 'muse herself, not me. But I like Binkie my dog, because He knows how to behave; So, Binkie's the same as the First Friend was, And I am the Man in the Cave! Pussy will play Man Friday till It's time to wet her paw and make her walk on the window-sill (For the footprint Crusoe saw); Then she fluffles her tail and mews, And scratches and won't attend But Binkie will play whatever I choose, And he is my true First Friend! Pussy will rub my knees with her head Pretending she loves me hard; But the very minute I go to my bed Pussy runs out in the yard, And there she stays till the morning-light; So I know it is only pretend And he is my Firstest Friend.

Jabberwocky
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
  And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
  The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
  And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through.
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
  He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
  He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
  Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
  And the mome raths outgrabe.

Outgoing Tide

Amendments and Bills for Monetary Reason

Instant Gratification and Indirect Treason

Promoting the Promise of a Better Tomorrow

Isolating Ourselves with the Money We Borrow

Debits and Credits Consume our Great Nation

We Cover it Up with More Legislation

Watching as the Tide of a Great Nation Recedes

I Sit Here, Saddened, As Our Country Bleeds

Darkness: A Poem on Depression and Utter Emptiness

Hollow trees and crisp brown leaves
Frightened birds and blood lust bees
Running down the winding road
Succumbing to fear and all that she holds
Shadows extend, as my skin grows cold
No longer youthful, but raggedly old
Stonewalls wet with the pungent air
The darkness sighs and often dares
The life that remains is hard and black
Familiar to gutters and sewer rats
I am encased by thoughts of fear
Focused I concentrate as I shed a dark tear
Woefully crying I disturb the air
Is anybody out there, anyone to care?
Is it to late, have they all moved on
Leaving me in darkness, wolves to a fawn
Roaches and onions sustain my frail soul
Mattresses of bark and fires of coal
Corners hold darkness but with that secrets
Will I discover treasure and trinkets?
Cracks in the walls and traces of pain
Scratches infected and cold blue veins
Hands at my back and bites on my feet
Dragging me down to hell where Ill meet
An entourage of fear and a blanket of horror
Day after day Ill be fed to the boars
Deserving I am for I am ashamed
Living a life where lives I claimed
Thinking not of the end of my time
Here I am, amongst my own kind
A void I’m in and rage I feel
It’s not my own, he’s here to kill
I get on my knees and think not to pray
I look upward in time to here the darkness say,
“Mine you are you wretched soul
Thought you’d escape my feasting bowl,
I’ve been waiting for you for quite some time
I've grown hungry in hell, but on you I’ll dine
